FINANCIAL COORDINATOR JOB DESCRIPTION
The Financial Coordinator will provide general bookkeeping and accounting services for Mercy Ministries. This part-time, remote position requires 15-20 hours a week.
Applicants must be:
- Proficient in QuickBooks and Microsoft Suite.
- Willing to learn new financial platforms and software.
- Detail-oriented and self-motivated, able to prioritize tasks and work independently with the support of the executive director.
- In agreement with Mercy’s mission, vision, statement of faith and statement of principle.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES
- Process the incoming financial mail and enter all income and expenses into the accounting system (E-Kyros & QuickBooks) on a weekly basis.
- Pay invoices through auto pay on the bank website.
- Process donations through the payment processor and enter into E-Kyros and QuickBooks.
- Maintain accurate records and copies of all correspondence (ex: copies of checks, deposit slips, investment account reports, etc.)
- Reconcile bank and investment accounts monthly.
- Report employee payroll to Isolved biweekly and record payroll detail into QuickBooks.
- Keep track of staff PTO time.
- Work with Treasurer to streamline and improve the data input and reporting processes.
- Keep donor list up to date.
- Process all donor receipts as needed.
- Prepare bank deposits.
- Create expense checks as needed for signature by ED or Treasurer.
- Work with CPA to complete year end reports (form 990)
- Create and send year-end donor receipts.
- Generate financial reports and donor information reports for the executive director.
- Assist churches in setting up Baby Bottle Fundraisers.
- Maintain list of passwords and account information.
- Attend fundraising events (5K/Walk and Dinner) and assist with registration and collection of donations/pledges.
